Thaan charcoal is relatively smokeless and is a lower-cost alternative to Ebisu grade Binchotan charcoal. It's a more sustainable product in that it's a byproduct of Rambutan fruit trees instead of slow-growing oak. If you're currently using or have used a Binchotan charcoal, you owe it to yourself to try this product. Burn time is 4.5-5 hours. This is very clean-burning charcoal and will require less hood and stove maintenance than using mesquite or hardwood charcoals. With an extremely low moisture content, you won't get sputtering and popping which adds soot and embers to your food. The bricks are extruded and quite dense, which ensures even and consistent burning. Thaan imparts a very mild flavor, letting your grilled foods speak for themselves. Food comes off the grill beautifully and not too smokey!
How to use: Light. Use a charcoal chimney with a fire starter log to light Thaan Charcoal. Wait. Wait until the charcoal is burning all the way through. Stack. Stack tightly crosswise using tongs for best airflow and sustained heat. Grill. Enjoy even, long lasting heat, and your delicious meal.
